my Top 3 Hiking Trails in North Atlanta for Stunning Photos & Videos

Today we are going to talk about my favorite 3 trails that I've discovered in the North Atlanta area since moving here from Colorado!
1. Morningside Nature Preserve
This spot is a newer spot to me and I'm starting to really enjoy it as my daily walk with Nimo. So far Nimo has made about two thousand friends at the dog beach. We recently moved close to this area that boasts around 30 acres of wilderness. Theres a creek that flows through the park called South Fork Peachtree Creek and an awesome old swing suspension bridge that crosses it. So far, I've seen lots of birds, including my favorite, the Red Shouldered Hawk. But, not much of any other wildlife. There is this huge woodpecker that I've seen multiple times, that's pretty neat. I would love to capture some photos of your furry pets at the little beach area that is there! It's a great spot that's family friendly!
2. Murphey Candler Park
This park was my daily walk for over a year. When I first started walking the trail I only did the main loop around the filled little man make lake. As time went on and Caiden started walking with me, his curiosity led to us finding a whole new set of trails that attached to the back end of the park, which eventually became the only part that we walked. The lake got drained about 9 months ago and hasn't been filled since the last time I've been there. I think it was pretty neat watching all the different wild life there, almost every single time I went. It was filled with deer, turtles, geese, ducks, herons, egrets, all kinds of song birds and rabbits. You could also hear some coyotes at night, that I believe were there. I got some awesome wildlife footage at this park and have taken some beautiful pet photo's. This park has a variety of options for great backdrops for your family photos!
3. East Palisades Trail
This network of trails is pretty sweet, especially as you're walking next to the Chattahoochee River on one side and a bamboo forest on the other. It offers a unique ecosystem throughout the area. You can see people paddle boarding on the river, running the trails and fishing the river bank. There are some pretty neat bluffs along side the river as well and some pretty gnarly rocks that can create some nice turbulence for the kayakers. There's also some old mill ruins back in the forest, which would be super cool for some photo sessions!
Hiking with video gear can be quite the haul!
